Masks Were A COMPLETE FAILURE During The Spanish Flu Of 1918

It’s said that those who don’t learn from the past are doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. And when it comes to masks during a pandemic, that definitely happened. Because during the 1918 Spanish Flu crisis, people were widely encouraged to wear face masks and, as the Washington Post notes, doing so was wholly ineffective at stopping the spread of the disease.
